[Callers] Questions for the callers

Dear Judith,

Thanks for the question. The role of the caller is rather
unique. It combines a variety of roles including facilitator,
teacher, master of ceremonies, leader, and sometimes enforcer or even
entertainer. I want dancers to know that they also have a role to
play in creating a great social event. That role is a combination of
greeter, gracious host, leader, and enjoyable partner. I want
dancers to know that my job is to make their job easy and
enjoyable. If it is not easy and enjoyable I want the dancers to let me know.

The best part of calling is working with the musicians and
organizers. The worst part is having to drive long distances late at night.

I hope this helps.
